ECON MANIFESTO

I believe the government should not have complete control of our economy. The economy should be controlled by the consumer and the entrepreneur. This being said, we do need the government to do a small amount of checking and balancing in order to prevent large corperations from monopolizing their field and taking advantage of their power. Our national debt is enormous and we need to do something about it quick or it could be the end our country as we know it. I believe that we should continue our current progressive tax system but make the gaps between brackets bigger and the increases in percentage smaller. This would make it so the middle class wont feel picked on. The wealthy should be taxed. They can afford it. It could be argued that this could mean less charitable donations, but we won't need as much charity if the lower class of people in our country are able to keep enough money after taxes to pay their bills and put food on the table.
